Step 1: Register with Study in India (SII)

International students need to register with Study in India (SII) and obtain an SII ID before applying for a visa. Register via the SII website.

Step 2: Apply for a course at UWA India

Explore our range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

• Entry requirements differ between courses and are available on individual course pages.
• All courses are taught in English and have English language requirements.
• Before applying, ensure you review the international student fees associated with your preferred course. Further information regarding international student fees and refunds is available in the UWA India Student Fees Policy.

Step 3: Accept your final admissions offer

Once you receive your final admission offer, you will need to satisfy any outstanding conditions, sign and return your UWA India Acceptance Contract and Refund Policy, and make your first tuition fee payment.

Step 4: Apply for a student visa

If you are an international student who requires a visa to study in India, you will need to apply for an Indian Student Visa before travelling to India.

Students are responsible for ensuring they hold a valid visa and meet all entry requirements for studying in India. We recommend applying as early as possible to allow sufficient time for visa processing.

Step 5: Arrange accommodation

Finding the right place to live is an important part of preparing for your studies at UWA India. While you will need to arrange your own accommodation, we're here to help. UWA India provides information about preferred accommodation partners and local housing options to help you find accommodation.

We recommend exploring your accommodation options and securing housing as early as possible, as accommodation close to campus can be in high demand.

Step 6: Organise health insurance and travel arrangements

Health insurance

We require all student visa holders to arrange and maintain appropriate health insurance cover for the duration of their studies at UWA India.

Travel arrangements

Check the latest entry and pre-arrival declaration requirements via the Indian Visa Online portal.

We recommend arriving in India with enough time to settle in and attend UWA India’s Orientation program. Orientation usually occurs one to two weeks before your course starts. Details about your Orientation program will be communicated separately.  

Ensure you carry documentation to present at immigration, such as your passport, student visa, e-Arrival Card QR code, UWA India admission documents, proof of sufficient finances, and passport size photographs.

Step 7: Arrive in India and register with the FRO/FRRO

On arrival, please contact us immediately via admissions@india.uwa.edu.au or +91 79434 47630 to confirm your arrival.

You must register with the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) / Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival in India. Registration is completed online through the e-FRRO system. Visit the Study in India (SII) website and FRRO website for further information.
