About the area
The Education directorate supports the academic mission of UWA India and is responsible for the delivery, quality, and governance of teaching and learning activities across the institution. The directorate includes academic disciplines and teaching staff, academic support services, library and learning resources, research administration, and education quality and compliance functions. The directorate ensures academic activities operate in accordance with governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and UWA academic standards while supporting the establishment and growth of UWA India's academic operations.
About the opportunity
- Coordinates institutional processes supporting ethical review and approval of research activities, ensures research projects are assessed and approved in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements, and maintains documentation and records relating to ethics approvals and governance processes.
- Monitors research activities to ensure they operate within approved ethics and governance frameworks, supports development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to research ethics and integrity, and monitors developments in research governance and regulatory frameworks relevant to institutional research activities.
- Promotes awareness of responsible research conduct and institutional research integrity standards and provides guidance to academic staff regarding policies and procedures relating to ethical research practice.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Experience supporting research governance, ethics administration, or compliance functions within a higher education or research environment.
- Understanding of research ethics principles and responsible conduct of research standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple governance and documentation processes.
- Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work effectively with academic staff and institutional stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements relating to research ethics and integrity.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and compliance.
