About the area

The Academic Support function coordinates and delivers academic support services across UWA India, encompassing academic advising, learning support, academic skills development, education quality and compliance, and the governance and quality assurance environment underpinning academic program delivery. The function works collaboratively with academic departments, the Student Experience directorate, and the Library and Learning function to ensure support is integrated and responsive to the diverse learning needs of UWA India's student community.

About the opportunity  

  • Coordinates the delivery of learning support programs, academic skills development activities, and student support services, and provides direct support to students experiencing academic difficulty including referral to appropriate services.
  • Manages academic support and adjustment services, maintains service records and reporting, and works collaboratively with academic departments and the Library and Learning function to ensure learning support is integrated and accessible.
  • Supervises the Academic Support Advisor, contributes to continuous improvement of learning support practices, and assists in the development and review of learning support policies and operational procedures.

About you  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Experience coordinating learning support services or student support programs within a higher education or similarly complex environment.
  • Understanding of academic skills development, student learning needs, and support approaches relevant to higher education.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver services to agreed standards.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, academic staff, and professional services teams.
  • Experience supervising staff or providing operational leadership within a service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student-centred service and a collaborative approach to supporting learning outcomes.
