About the Department
The Department of Computer Science at UWA India will form an integral part of UWA's academic community. Through its India based department, academic staff will teach across computer science, Philosophy and statistics. Including software engineering, computer systems and cybersecurity, databases and data engineering, ethics and artificial intelligence, statistics, and data science, including the Internet of Things, while undertaking impactful world class research.
About the opportunity
- Provide strategic, academic and operational leadership for Computer Science at UWA India, leading the establishment, development and sustainable growth of the discipline across campuses in alignment with UWA India strategy, UWA academic standards, and the Indian higher education context.
- Lead and support academic staff across teaching, learning and scholarly activity, working closely with colleagues in UWA India and the Perth campus to deliver high quality programs and foster an emerging research and scholarly culture appropriate to the maturity of the campus.
- Ensure effective governance, regulatory compliance and academic operations for the discipline, contributing to institutional planning, responsible resource management, and the development of partnerships that enhance student outcomes, industry engagement and regional impact.
About you
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Department, supporting its establishment, development, and sustainable growth across UWA India campuses.
- Lead implementation of departmental priorities aligned with UWA India strategy, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and alignment with educational and cultural expectations.
- Lead and support academic staff through recruitment, performance development, mentoring, and capability building to enable high-quality teaching and scholarly contribution.
- Oversee delivery of teaching and learning within the Department, ensuring programs meet approved academic standards and deliver positive student learning outcomes.
- Ensure departmental activities operate within approved academic governance frameworks and comply with UWA policies and Indian regulatory requirements.
