About the area
The Education portfolio supports the academic mission of UWA India and is responsible for the delivery, quality, and governance of teaching and learning activities across the institution. Led by the Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Education), the area provides academic leadership, academic program oversight, and the professional services that support teaching, research, and academic administration. The portfolio includes academic disciplines and teaching staff, academic support services, library and learning resources, research administration, and functions responsible for education quality, compliance, and research integrity. These areas support the delivery of academic programs, the development of academic capability, and the maintenance of institutional academic standards.
Working with professional services and institutional leadership, the Education portfolio ensures academic activities operate in accordance with governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and UWA academic standards while supporting the establishment and growth of UWA India’s academic operations.
About the opportunity
- Provides strategic leadership and oversight of research development, governance, and administration across UWA India.
- Leads the development and implementation of UWA India’s research strategy, ensuring strong research governance, compliance, and integrity.
- Builds institutional research capability and fosters a culture of high-quality research aligned with academic standards and strategic priorities.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education, with postgraduate qualifications in a research discipline or research management highly regarded
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in research management, research development, or a related function within a higher education or research-intensive environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing research strategy and building institutional research capability.
- Proven track record in research funding development, including experience leading competitive grant applications and managing funded research programs.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and managing research governance and compliance frameworks.
