Dr Debanjali Dasgupta

Dr Debanjali Dasgupta is an Assistant Professor of Economics at UWA India, Mumbai. Her research focuses on health economics, public policy, maternal and child health, and health equity, using modern econometric methods and large-scale datasets to understand how policy decisions impact communities and healthcare outcomes.  Before joining academia full-time, Dr Dasgupta worked on research and evaluation projects for organisations including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Clinton Health Access Initiative. She brings both academic rigour and practical policy insight into the classroom, encouraging students to apply economic thinking to real-world challenges.
