Managing your enrolment

Adding a unit
If you want to add one or more units, you can do so in your MyCamu Student Portal before the end of the first week of semester or trimester. However, you can usually only be enrolled in a maximum of 24 credit points per semester, so you may need to withdraw from a unit before you’re able to add a new one.

If it’s after the first week of semester and you would like to add a unit, submit a completed Change of Enrolment Form [Word 89KB] and a Special Approval Form [Word 97KB] to the Student Experience Team.
Withdrawing from a unit
To withdraw from a unit, you will need to submit a completed Change of Enrolment Form [Word 89KB] to the Student Experience Team.

Withdrawing from a unit has different financial and academic consequences depending when you withdraw during the semester/trimester. Refer to our Important Dates for key deadlines for making changes to your enrolment.

If you’d like to discuss your study plan before withdrawing, contact the Student Experience Team via student-experience@india.uwa.edu.au.

Before the end of Week 3 of the teaching period

The unit will not show on your formal academic record. You will not be liable for unit fees.

After Week 3, but before the census date

The unit will appear on your formal academic record with a WD grade; however, there is no academic penalty. You will not be liable for unit fees.

After the census date, but before the academic withdrawal date

The unit will appear on your formal academic record with a WD grade; however, there is no academic penalty. You will remain liable for the unit fees.

After the academic withdrawal date, but before the end of the teaching period

The unit will appear on your formal academic record with an FN (Failure due to Non-completion) grade and mark of '0'. You will remain liable for the unit fees and the FN will count towards your WAM and GPA as a fail grade (equivalent to zero).
If you missed one of the deadlines and are withdrawing due to special circumstances, you may be eligible for exceptional variation of assessment (EVA). You can contact the Student Experience Team for further information and advice.
Information for international students
If you’re studying on a student visa, it’s important to contact the Student Experience Team before you withdraw from any units. You may also need to submit a Special Approval Form [Word 97KB] in addition to a Change of Enrolment Form [Word 89KB].

Taking a break from your studies

You can apply for leave by submitting an Approved Leave Form [Word 82 KB] to the Student Experience Team up until the academic withdrawal date for the current semester or trimester.

If your application for leave is approved, you’ll be withdrawn from your units. This can have financial or academic consequences depending on the date you apply.
