Results and Progression
Understanding your academic results is an important part of your learning journey at UWA India. Your grades provide feedback on your achievement in each unit and help determine your academic progress throughout your course.

- Not all grade codes are applicable to every course or unit.
- Some codes indicate administrative or examination outcomes rather than academic achievement.
- If you are unsure about a grade code appearing on your academic record, contact the Student Experience Team via student-experience@india.uwa.edu.au.
Academic progression
Academic progression is an assessment of your academic performance. Your academic progress will be checked at the end of each semester or trimester to determine your eligibility to continue studying your course. If you’ve made satisfactory progress, you’ll be assigned the status of "Good Standing" and will be permitted to re-enrol. If you’ve failed to make satisfactory progress, you may be placed on probation, suspended or excluded.
If you've been struggling with your studies and are concerned about your course progression, it's important to speak with your Student Services and Success Advisor and discuss a study plan to ensure you're better prepared for next semester. You can also speak with your Student Services and Success Advisor if you're concerned about the impact your progression may have on your student visa.

Progression status
Good Standing
You have made satisfactory progress in accordance with the rules for your course.
Probation
You have failed to make satisfactory progress and have been placed on probation. For more information about the conditions of your probation and to discuss re-enrolment conditions, contact your Student Services and Success Advisor. Restrict 18
You have not made satisfactory progress in your course and your enrolment will be restricted to 18 credit points. For more information about the conditions of your restrict 18, contact your Student Services and Success Advisor. Suspension
You have been suspended from this course and will not be permitted to continue in the course next semester/trimester. For more information on progress status outcomes, visit University Policy on Academic Progress.
If you had already re-enrolled for the next semester/trimester before receiving this notification, your enrolment will be automatically discontinued after the prescribed period for submission of a Stage 1 Review of Progress Status (Show Cause period) has elapsed.
Exclusion
According to the rules for your course, you have failed to make satisfactory progress and have been excluded from your course. For more information on progress status outcomes, visit University Policy on Academic Progress.
If you had already re-enrolled for the next semester or trimester before receiving this notification your enrolment will be automatically discontinued after the prescribed period for submission of a Stage 1 Review of Progress Status (Show cause period) has elapsed.
Showcause
In accordance with the rules for your course, you have failed to make satisfactory progress. As a result, a progress status of Suspension or Exclusion has been approved by your School. For more information on progress status outcomes, visit University Policy on Academic Progress.
Please observe the Review and Appeal requirements if you believe this progress status should not be applied in your case. Your Student Services and Success Advisor is the first point of contact to discuss your progress status and any course of action that might be open to you. Once the prescribed period for submission of a statement or appeal has lapsed, the status will be applied automatically.
Expulsion
In accordance with Part 3 – 9 (1)(i) of the University's Conduct and Discipline Regulations you have been expelled from the University.
Unconsidered
Your course progress status is under consideration by the School Board of Examiners. For more information, contact your Student Services and Success Advisor.
Impact of progression for scholarship recipients
Students who are recipients of scholarships must maintain satisfactory academic progress to continue receiving their scholarship payments. This includes meeting the progression requirements of their course and completing any mandatory units such as ACE and CARS, where applicable.
Failure to meet progression requirements may result in the suspension or cancellation of scholarship payments. Students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the progression rules and seek advice if they are at risk of not meeting these requirements.

Issues and complaints
If you’re dissatisfied with an assessment result or your progress status at the University, you are entitled to request a review of the academic decision relating to you, and to appeal if you are dissatisfied with the outcome of that review.
If you’re concerned about the quality of teaching, supervision, administrative processes, or the conduct of staff or other students, you can submit a complaint.
