Your work area

The Education portfolio supports the academic mission of UWA India and is responsible for the delivery, quality, and governance of teaching and learning activities across the institution. Led by the Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Education), the area provides academic leadership, academic program oversight, and the professional services that support teaching, research, and academic administration.

The portfolio includes academic disciplines and teaching staff, academic support services, library and learning resources, research administration, and functions responsible for education quality, compliance, and research integrity. These areas support the delivery of academic programs, the development of academic capability, and the maintenance of institutional academic standards.

Working with professional services and institutional leadership, the Education portfolio ensures academic activities operate in accordance with governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and UWA academic standards while supporting the establishment and growth of UWA India’s academic operations.

Your Role

The Ethics & Integrity Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the processes and practices that support ethical research conduct and research integrity across UWA India. The role ensures research activities operate within approved ethics and governance frameworks and in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Working with academic staff and research administration functions, the position supports the institutional environment that enables responsible research practice and maintains oversight of ethics approval and research integrity processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

The position undertakes the following duties:

  • Coordinate institutional processes supporting ethical review and approval of research activities.
  • Ensure research projects requiring ethics review are assessed and approved in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and records relating to ethics approvals and governance processes.
  • Promote awareness of responsible research conduct and institutional research integrity standards.
  • Provide guidance to academic staff regarding policies and procedures relating to ethical research practice and research integrity.
  • Monitor research activities to ensure they operate within approved ethics and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain records and documentation supporting institutional oversight of research compliance requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to research ethics and integrity.
  • Monitor developments in research governance and regulatory frameworks relevant to institutional research activities.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Your Specific Work Capabilities (Selection Criteria)

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Experience supporting research governance, ethics administration, or compliance functions within a higher education or research environment.
  • Understanding of research ethics principles and responsible conduct of research standards.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple governance and documentation processes.
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work effectively with academic staff and institutional stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements relating to research ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and compliance.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a higher education or multi-site international environment.
