Your work area

The UWA India – Operations division provides integrated operational, administrative and strategic support to enable the successful establishment and ongoing management of UWA’s India campus. The team comprises specialists across finance, people and culture, marketing and communications, IT, facilities, governance, audit, and compliance, working collaboratively to ensure efficient campus operations and alignment with UWA’s global standards. The Operations division supports the delivery of high-quality student, staff and partner experiences, fosters strong industry and government relationships across India, and ensures that UWA’s international activities operate with integrity, transparency and compliance.

The Marketing, Recruitment & Admissions department forms part of the Operations division, supporting the establishment and growth of the UWA India by delivering high-quality, integrated, and strategically the conversion of leads to enrolments through a process driven counselling and admission services. This work area complements the brand, marketing and recruitment strategy, and student recruitment operations, ensuring a cohesive and locally relevant presence that enhances UWA India’s visibility, reputation, and competitiveness across domestic and international markets.

A particular focus is placed on conversion of prospective students in high quality and satisfied university starters commencing with counselling and advising enquiries to apply to their desired courses for studies and further nurturing them into enrolled students on campus of their choice.

The desired outcome is excellence in student experience and satisfaction while distinctively contributing to attracting high-quality students while meeting enrolment targets. Collectively, these services support UWA’s strategic objectives, reinforce institutional brand standards, and contribute to the long-term growth, sustainability, and success of UWA India.

The team exists to provide strategic student recruitment direction and management for the university with strong emphasis on the regulations, policies and processes for onboarding of students to a UWA campus.

Your Role

The Future Student Officer plays a pivotal role in engaging, advising, and supporting prospective students considering study at UWA’s India campus. The position is responsible for delivering high-quality guidance on academic programs, admissions processes, scholarships, and campus life, ensuring a seamless journey from enquiry to enrolment.

They act as the bridge between prospective students and the institution, ensuring that every future student receives clear, supportive, and personalized advice throughout their decision making journey.

Your Key Responsibilities

The position undertakes the following duties:

  • Provide accurate, timely, and personalised advice to prospective students and their families.
  • Conduct information sessions, campus tours, and outreach activities (schools, colleges, fairs).
  • Support marketing campaigns by contributing student-focused content and testimonials.
  • Build strong relationships with feeder institutions, agents, and community stakeholders.
  • Guide applicants through entry requirements, documentation, and application processes.
  • Liaise with admissions teams to ensure smooth processing of applications.
  • Assist in coordinating scholarship and financial aid information sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, applications, and conversion rates.
  • Track KPIs such as enquiry response times, conversion ratios, and event attendance.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to inform recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with academic and student services teams to ensure a positive transition for new students.
  • Support orientation programs and pre-arrival communications.
  • Act as a first point of contact for future students until enrolment.
  • Participate in student events, fairs, etc when required.
  • Ensure compliance with UWA India policies, Australian education standards, and local regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

Your Specific Work Capabilities (Selection Criteria)

  • A Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Management, related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in recruitment, counselling and admissions in a university preferably an international provider.
  • Familiarity with international university operations is an advantage.
  • Strong networking skills with schools, agents, and institutions.
  • Demonstrated skills in CRM systems, dashboards, analytics, and KPI tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (multilingual ability desirable).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of integrity, accountability and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work proactively, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience working in an international, multicultural, or higher-education environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of higher education operations and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
