Examinations
Examinations are an important part of your academic journey. We aim to make the examination process clear, fair and well-supported so that you can focus on achieving your best results.
Examination timetables
Your personal examination timetable will be published before each examination period. The information communicated about your examinations will include:
- the date and time of each examination
- the examination mode (on-campus or online)
- venue details, where applicable
- information about permitted materials and equipment.
You are responsible for checking your examination timetable, additional correspondence and notifications, and ensuring that you attend all scheduled examinations.
Preparing for your examination
Good preparation can help to reduce stress and improve your academic performance. Before your examination, make sure you:
- review all examination information provided by your Unit Coordinator
- confirm the date, time and location of your examination
- understand the examination format and permitted materials
- ensure you have valid student identification
- bring all approved materials and equipment required for the examination.
We encourage you to develop a study plan and seek academic support if required.
Sitting your examination

- arrive at the examination venue early
- bring your student ID card or approved government-issued photo ID
- follow all instructions provided by examination supervisors
- store personal belongings in designated areas
- switch off mobile phones and unauthorised electronic devices and store them in designated storage areas.
- have reliable internet access
- have your student ID card or an approved government-issued photo ID
- test your equipment before the examination
- log in early and confirm you can access the examination platform
- follow all examination instructions and academic integrity requirements.
- approved calculators (where authorised)
- writing materials in a transparent pencil case
- water in a clear bottle with labels removed
- other resources specifically approved for the examination.
Examination support and alternative arrangements

- other reasonable adjustments.
Deferred examinations
If you are unable to sit an examination due to exceptional circumstances, you may be eligible to undertake a deferred examination. Applications for deferred examinations are made through the exceptional variation of assessment (EVA) process.
Deferred examination timetables and result release dates will be communicated separately. If you are granted a deferred examination, make sure you review all examination instructions carefully and prepare in the same way as for the main examination period.
Results
Examination and final unit results are released following the completion of marking and academic review processes.
You can access your results through the MyCamu Student Portal on the published results release date. Information about grades, progression and any supplementary assessment outcomes will be made available at that time.
Academic integrity
Academic integrity is fundamental to the value of a UWA qualification. You are expected to complete all examinations honestly and independently, in accordance with University regulations.
Any form of academic misconduct, including cheating, unauthorised collaboration or the use of prohibited materials, may result in disciplinary action.
