About this scholarship
The Vice-Chancellor High-Merit Award recognises students who combine strong academic results with impressive extra-curricular achievements. It reflects UWA India’s commitment to developing future leaders.
What you’ll receive
- 50% tuition fee waiver
- Applied for the standard full-time duration of your course
- Available across both UWA India campuses
- Applies to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs
Who should apply
You may be eligible if you:
- Are an Indian citizen domiciled in India
- Are commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree
- Have achieved an aggregate score of at least 85%
- Demonstrate excellence in areas such as other academic achievements, leadership, community involvement, the arts or sport
How to apply
Applications are now open and close 15 July 2026. If you are an Indian citizen and have applied to study at UWA India, you will receive an email inviting you to submit an online scholarship application.
For guidance on submitting evidence of outstanding achievements, please refer to the Applicant Guide (PDF 129KB).
As part of your application, you will be asked to provide:
- Evidence of academic achievement
- A Statement of Purpose
- Evidence of outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, community involvement, the arts, or sport.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview.

Important information
The University of Western Australia is working closely with the University Grants Commission (UGC) to obtain the necessary approvals for its proposed campuses and course offerings in India. Scholarships and bursaries will be offered on a provisional basis, and a final offer issued once the required UGC approvals and any other required approvals have been received.
